As any hockey goaltender knows, having reliable and high-performance gear is essential for success on the ice. Bauer has released the new Reactor line with a combination of recently introduced technology, what worked before, and what’s worked in their other gear families. The Reactor R5 Pro goalie stick is the newest in the Reactor family featuring Pentagrip, an Aerofoam and Bridge Core, and a UD carbon construction.

Shaft Construction
The shaft is constructed with unidirectional carbon, which provides exceptional strength and stiffness while keeping the overall weight of the stick low. The unidirectional nature of the carbon fibres provides targeted reinforcement in strategic areas of the stick for increased durability. UD carbon also enhances the responsiveness and energy transfer, making it easier and more efficient to pass or shoot when needed.

Paddle Construction
The paddle is constructed with Aerofoam coupled with Bridge Core. Aerofoam is designed to provide increased stiffness and responsiveness, allowing for better energy transfer and a more accurate shot. It is also very lightweight for better maneuverability. On a similar note, Bridge Core comes from the Supreme side of Bauer’s gear and combines light weight with great durability.

Blade Construction/Stiffness
The blade sticks to the Textreme construction with a BridgeCore blade core. Textreme carbon fibre is characterized by its unique weaving pattern, which consists of thin, spread carbon fibres woven together in a crisscross pattern. This weaving technique allows for optimal weight reduction while maintaining excellent strength and durability.

Grip
The Reactor R5 Pro uses a Pentagrip grip and geometry between the paddle and the shaft for a more ergonomic and natural shape. This optimized grip is textured with an asymmetrical pentagonal shape over the shaft and on the front side, where the goalie would hold the stick. That way, the goalie can hold the stick more naturally while holding more of the stick in their hand.
